A 20-foot beached killer whale was rescued from Prince of Wales Island, Alaska. A statement from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) revealed that bystanders poured water on the mammal until high tide to free it. The whale was spotted on July 29 by the captain and crew on a closeby vessel, the Steadfast. They reported that the mammal was 4 to 5 feet from the tide line. CNN stated that the crew kept observing the whale until the arrival of the Alaska Wildlife Troopers and an officer from the NOAA. Watch the video here.
