British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell has been found guilty of five federal sex trafficking charges. The jury concluded on December 29, having ruled that she played a critical role in recruiting and grooming teenage girls. These girls were then sexually abused by the wealthy financier and Maxwell’s close confidant Jeffrey Epstein. Although a sentencing date has not been announced, Maxwell faces up to 65 years of jail time.
