There have been recent discoveries of new types of snakes slithering in Florida. These venomous animals are wreaking havoc in the Sunshine State. Could this be a sign that more serpents will be appearing throughout the United States in the future? We’re not sure, but for now, let’s talk about these new snakes discovered in Florida.
Cottonmouth or “water moccasin”

Size – 20 to 48 inches in length.
Coloration – Some of these snakes are dark brown and others are olive green or jet black; all have a dark line running through their eyes and triangular heads.
Habitat – Always near water, although not necessarily in it.
Bite Danger – Bites are excruciating and, if left untreated, can be fatal.
