Size – 36 to 72 inches in length.

Coloration – These snakes have a brownish, brownish-yellow gray, or olive tone with brownish-black diamonds defined by cream-colored scales.

Habitat – They are found in slash pine, longleaf pine, sand pine, palmetto, turkey oak, rosemary scrub, and areas with gopher tortoises. 

Bite Danger – Bite wounds are excruciatingly painful and might result in death. Antivenin is widely available across the snake’s habitat, and it is rarely fatal when treated.
