Attendees at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) voted former president Donald Trump as their top choice to run for the White House in 2024. The political conference typically serves as an audition for presidential contenders of the Republican party. But the session held over three days in July was just another instance of how Trump continues to tease another possible presidential run.

Trump blamed giant technology companies for skewing the votes in the 2020 election by censoring content. He also accused the press of pushing the narrative that there was no widespread proof of voter fraud. The “radical left” was another of Trump’s targets as he chided them of cheating and declared the 2020 election “a disgrace” to the United States.

The adoring crowd cheered Trump by chanting “USA! USA! USA!” as he alleged that Americans are “truly being scorned and disrespected all over the world.” He urged the crowd to remember that the “radical left is not the majority in the country.” Trump announced, “We are the majority, and it’s not even close.”

The attendees kept rooting for Trump, yelling “Four more years! Four more years!” while Trump teased a presidential run in 2024. He alleged that Democrats were using the powers of the government and the law to ensure that “their political opponents” were silent. He also stated that they were actively trying to further “the radical agenda of their party” by mentioning how the law license of Rudy Giuliani, his former personal lawyer, was suspended in Washington, DC.

Attendees at the gathering were asked two questions, one of which excluded any mention of Trump. Although the straw poll doesn’t reflect the wider Republican electorate as it is an unscientific survey, Trump topped the list among approximately a dozen candidates. He notched a 70% rating while Florida Gov. Ron De Santis had 21%.
