In a move to curb inaccurate and misleading information about vaccines, YouTube has announced a crackdown. In a blog post, the company announced an extension of its current community guidelines. The rules that previously prohibited the sharing of medical misinformation will now also cover “currently administered” vaccines that the World Health Organization and other health officials have determined as safe. Content that made false claims about the coronavirus had been banned by the platform, but now the ban will extend to misinformation about different vaccines as well. Watch the video.
